At the time it was built, the Basilica was the most beautiful cathedral of this kind amongst all French colonies. All the materials were directly imported from France like red bricks of the outside walls, which retain their bright and lively red color until today.

2. Hanoi's St.Joseph's Cathedral
Located in Nha Tho Street in the Hoan Kiem District of Hanoi, Vietnam, this is a late 19th century Gothic Revival church serving as the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archiocese of Hanoi to nearly 4 million Catholics in the country. Built with stone slabs and in brick with concrete facing, the complex includes 2 towers, square in shape, rising to a height of 103 ft and each tower fitted with five bells. The exterior walls of this church are made of granite stone slabs.

The cathedral’s stained glass windows were produced in France before being transported to Vietnam while the ceiling is rib vaulted like those seen in medieval Europe. This church has been nominated by the Vietnam Records Book Centre as one of the top five over 100 year-old churches in Vietnam. Built by the French from the early 20th century in the heart of Sapa town, this church is considered as the Holy Rosary.

The shape and architecture of the church was built by cross, the architecture presented in the roof, bell tower creates the elegant church. With total area of 6000m2, Sapa church was built by stone linked by a mixture of sand, lime and molasses. With a long history since establishment, this church of Sapa experienced many events of history. From the establishment, the church used to have priests to offer parishioners. However, due to the presence of Japanese troops, these activities have stalled. After that, the war makes almost activities to suspend. Then, the church becomes the repository of rice.

Church of Spanish architectural style, size: 80 meters long, 27 meters wide, 30 meters high. Two 44 meter high bell tower placed fourth bell was cast from France switched to weight: 2,000 kg - 1,200 kg - 600 kg and 100 kg.

It took 24 years to build this church from 1875 to 1898. And as its name suggests, it was built of stone and wood that are readily available in the mountain area of Ninh Binh. The preparation phase, mainly extracting materials from limestone mountains, took the locals as many as 10 years to finish.
Phat Diem Cathedral is a complex comprising a lake, a cathedral, a stone church, Phuong Dinh (bell house) and three artificial grottoes. At first sight, visitors are easily attracted to the square lake on the main road to the cathedral.
